Hannah + Jon’s Marquette Michigan Elopement was the perfect example of a laid-back day but also surrounded by nature and the people they love most. If you’re dreaming of an adventure-ish day and want to elope in Marquette, you’re in the right place!
They started their morning slow, tucked away in a cozy cabin with Lake Superior in the distance. But let me tell you, this day kicked off with a memorable moment: my truck broke down right in their driveway! Jon, being the absolute awesome soul he is, immediately offered to help and even tried to scan it. We laughed, shook it off, and got right into the spirit of the day. Lots of adventure, and even more flexibility haha.
Our first stop? A waterfall tucked back in the woods down a dirt road. We spent the early afternoon exploring the trails and soaking in the sounds of rushing water. Surrounded by woods, laughter, and the afternoon light. It was the perfect way to ease into their wedding day. No rush, no stress, truly just time together in nature.
After an early afternoon of wandering, we returned to their Airbnb to regroup. A quick snack, a little downtime, and a peaceful pause before the next chapter of the day. That’s the best part of an elopement, you get to create a rhythm that feels true to you.
For their ceremony, Hannah + Jon were joined by their parents at a quiet spot right on Lake Superior. With the waves as their soundtrack and the breeze coming off the lake, they got married as their people who mean the most to them stood right by their sides. It was intimate, peaceful, and exactly what they envisioned.
After the ceremony, we took time to explore this lakeside location together. We hiked along the rocks, wandered the beach, and walked through the woods. We really just soaked in that golden Upper Peninsula light and the quiet joy of “we did it.”
Once the ceremony ended, Hannah + Jon headed off to dinner with their families. They got to enjoy some food before we met back up for one of my favorite parts of any elopement, sunset portraits!!
The sky put on a soft, glowing show for us as we wrapped up the day with portraits on the beach. It was the perfect peaceful ending to a meaningful day that was just how Hannah + Jon pictured it. We finished the evening back at their cabin. The whole day was no rush, no pressure, just relaxing.
The best part of an elopement? The entire day is yours! Whether you want to hike to a waterfall, hike through the woods, explore the shores of Lake Superior, or just relax in a cozy cabin, your day can be as laid-back or adventurous as you want it to be. And if you’re dreaming of an intentional day, and want to elope in Marquette, I’d love to help you bring it to life.
