Marquette is one of the most popular towns in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. With a population of 21,000, this makes it one of the bigger towns in the U.P. as well. Marquette is well-known for good reason. Marquette offers the perfect combination of natural beauty, outdoor adventure, but with a charming small-town feel. Honestly, there are so many reasons why Marquette is awesome, whether it is the Lake Superior shoreline, its many local shops, or the variety of restaurants and accommodations. Marquette has something for every couple dreaming of an unforgettable elopement experience.
Marquette boasts several incredible locations for an intimate wedding or elopement ceremony.
– Presque Isle Park offers breathtaking views of Lake Superior, with cliffs, wooded trails, and a sandy beach. The famous Black Rocks is located here.
– Sugarloaf Mountain is perfect for an adventurous couple that wants to include a short hike. Sugarloaf Mountain has panoramic views of Lake Superior, perfect for sunset.
– Hogsback Mountain is another location for the couple that wants to hike on their elopement day, but wants a little more strenuous hike. The 3.1 mile round trip hike offers stunning views at the top.
Beyond these popular locations, Marquette has diverse landscapes, which means I can find the perfect elopement location for you two.
When planning your elopement, consider the seasons in Marquette. The best time to elope is from July through October, with August, September, and October being my personal favorite months of the year.
– Summer (July and August): Expect warm days with temperatures around the 80s, or even warmer if we get a South wind. If you want to incorporate swimming on your elopement day, the summer months is when you should elope.
– September: As fall begins, temperatures cool into the 60s and 70s, creating perfect weather for outdoor ceremonies, as it isn’t too hot out, but yet you won’t freeze your butt off.
– October: Fall colors peak, but temperatures drop into the 50s, and rainy days become more frequent. If you are looking for fall foliage as your backdrop, October is the month for you.
Your elopement day is more than just that, it is an experience. An experience you will remember for a lifetime. Let’s make the day even better by including some of your favorite activities!
